Theosophy News Worldwide 3rd Quarter 2014

Dear friends of Theosophy,

further three months passed away, three months, during which I unfortunately could not view as close as I want to the movement. But what I recognized was that many events were held during the summer and you should have a look at the video-section, because videos of all lectures held on the 37th European Congress 2014 and the ITC 2014 were published on Youtube! Many thanks for that wonderful effort. You'll find also an interesting article about FOTA's International conference on Theosophical History within the article-section after the official news.

And not less interesting is the "Declaration of Naarden", this issues "Theme of the quarter". A lot was talked and written about it and all this touch the - if not reunification, so nevertheless - the fraternization between the different theosophical schools of thought.

No doubt, all of the different theosophical directions are brothers and yes, brothers can be very different, but tolerance, respect, politeness and so on, that theosophy preach in the name of truth and reason under the term of brotherliness and conciliation even between all nations and religions, should that not be possible also between the different theosophical traditions itself, despised all the differences and problems? Pretty sure and very necessary, if not Theosophy will lose it's credibility, because to start with oneself should ever be the first step.

And what us all connect closely or should connect (also the base of the Naarden-Declaration), is the root base of modern Theosophy, the Doctrine of Madame Helena Blavatsky and her Teachers and the ethical main goals that were postulated. But I asked myself recently, whether the primary aims of Theosophy were misunderstood and whether is something wrong with the Theosophical Movement, because HPB often pointed out, that "Ethics are the soul of the Wisdom-Religion... Theosophy has to inculcate ethics..." (The Key to Theosophy) and I miss often if not almost all the time articles, discussions, lectures and books about that so very important issue - to push along the revolution of the moral values of the western society.

If not we, who then?

With kind regards from Munich, Germany

Dear Steven,

Thank you for this 2nd Quarterly collected international Theosophy.

I have not seen the 1st one but taking a quick glance at this 2nd one it sure seems to be very interesting. You must have spent hours and hours to put this together and for that I must congratulate you. I shall take my time to read this issue.

Once again, congrats and thanks for your painstaking work and forwarding it to me.

Warm regards.
