Theosophy News Worldwide 2nd Quarter 2014

This issue was published on 2014-07-04 or 10 years 1 month ago.

Editorial

Steven Otto

Dear friends of Theosophy,

the response on the first independent "Theosopy-World-News"-Newsletter were all very positive (see on the right side section Statements). That makes me happy and motivated and today, a little bit late, but not to late, the second issue is published.

And a lot has happened in the past three months, nationwide theosophical events took place worldwide in Russia, Germany, America, Italy and Netherland. There were some voices, mainly on facebook, demanding justice on W.Q. Judge (see here or here about this case), of course we all celebrated the "White Lotus Day" and a new International President of the TS-Adyar was elected. And that is again the theme of the quater, because the election was considered by some people critically and a lot has been written about it.

In England a Mondrian exhibition takes place and in such a case, even with other famous by theosophie inspired artists, there is always a reference to Theosophy on large non-theosophical newspapers and websites, a good thing and positive association. That there is another way, show us some articles, that wish to place Theosophy in conjunction with racism, an ugly theme, which I have dedicated myself in an article or a pleading, that we Theosophists take more care of our reputation, means that we should more fight against the lies about theosophy and it's protagonists.

Please share your thoughts with us about that or other articles and write me your opinion and I'll publish it within the next newsletter in the statement-section.

But much more has been written about Theosophy within the last three month worldwide (and even more on non-english-language sites), a lot of theosophical ideas and thoughts, new and old aspects of Theosophy about science, philosophy, spirituality and brotherhood and a hopefully full range of articles and news, magazines and videos about that you can find on this page.

And now thank you for your attention and enjoy reading.

With kind regards from Munich, Germany

Steven Otto
Editor of Theosophy World News

If the ʺspirit,ʺ or the divine portion of the soul, is preëxistent as a distinct being from all eternity, as Origen, Synesius and other Christian fathers and philosophers taught, and if it is the same, and nothing more than the metaphysically‐objective soul, how can it be otherwise than eternal? And what matters it in such a case, whether man leads an animal or a pure life, if, do what he may, he can never lose his individuality? This doctrine is as pernicious in its consequences as that of vicarious atonement. Had the latter dogma, in company with the false idea that we are all immortal, been demonstrated to the world in its true light, humanity would have been bettered by its propagation.

H.P.B in "Isis Unveiled", p. 283.

Theosophy Cycles

Theosophy the Path of Knowledge

The function of Theosophists is to open men's hearts and understandings to charity, justice, and generosity, attributes which belong specifically to the human kingdom and are natural to man when he has developed the qualities of a human being. Theosophy teaches the animal-man to be a human-man; and when people have learnt to think and feel as truly human beings should feel and think, they will act humanely, and works of charity, justice, and generosity will be done spontaneously by all.
